Appellation Guide: Blaye AOC (Bordeaux, France)
Blaye is a very small appellation of less than 40 hectares. It overlooks the Gironde estuary and beyond towards the city of Bordeaux.
It's a gentle countryside of undulating hills and one that contrasts vividly with the marine backdrop.
The vineyards, planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon are mainly found on the hills.
