Created in 1987 Passac Leognan is the most recent appellation of all the Bordeaux territories. Regardless, highly appreciated winemaking in this little area south of the city can be traced back hundreds of years.

Pessac Leognan's most recent history is heavily intertwined with the Lurton family. André Lurton was president of the wine growers association for almost 20 years.

The 16 properties that today form part of 1855 classification are examples of this exceptional past.
