1600 hectare estate that spans areas of the Mendro Mountain range and down onto the plains of the Alentejo and alongside the Guadiana River. It's a tranquil area of the Alentejo region and the production of full bodied, spicy wines is well suited.

Generally the soils in this part of the region are a combination of loam and clay.


Alentejo DOC Reserva 2013 by Herdade do Sobroso Blend of Alicante Boushet and Cabernet Sauvignon, it's a big bold number with plenty of spicy red red fruit and lots of coffee and vanilla flavours backing it up. (January 2017)

Alentejo DOC 'Cellar Selection' 2014 by Herdade Sobroso Blend of Syrah and Alicante Boushet, it provides plenty of jammy fruit on the nose as well as a spicy palate that is both rich and elegant at the same time. Decent length with a rustic firmness to it. (January 2017)

Alentejo DOC 'Barrique Select Tinto' 2014 by Herdade Sobroso Blend of Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Boushet and Alfrochiero, it is a typical blend of the area. Lots of jammy fruit emerge from both nose and palate while notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla make this a modern, new world style wine. (January 2017)
