Coteaux du Salagou IGP covers vineyards around Lake Salagou in the Hérault, an area characterised by iron rich red soils known as ruffes. The zone produces mainly red wines, typically based on Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan, with smaller amounts of rosé and white wine.
