Brea is a small but increasingly respected MGA in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, positioned on steep, well-exposed slopes with compact clay-limestone soils typical of the area. The site is best known as the source of Brovia’s acclaimed Ca’ Mia bottling, which has helped highlight Brea’s potential for producing structured, ageworthy wines. Barolo from Brea tends to be deep, mineral, and firmly tannic, with a dark fruit profile and the kind of austere elegance that defines classic Serralunga.
