Francia is a highly esteemed MGA in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, occupying steep, south to southwest-facing slopes with compact clay-limestone soils typical of the area. The site is famed for producing structured, ageworthy wines with dark fruit, powerful tannins, and a deep mineral core. Best known as the home vineyard of Giacomo Conterno’s iconic Cascina Francia, this cru exemplifies the austerity, longevity, and gravitas that define the greatest Barolo from Serralunga.
