Marckrain is a gently sloping Grand Cru vineyard located between the villages of Bennwihr and Sigolsheim, with marl-limestone soils rich in clay and a warm, sunlit exposure. The site is especially well suited to Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris, which here yield broad, aromatic wines with notes of ripe stone fruit, spice, and a supple, rounded texture. Marckrain wines are approachable in youth but have the structure and concentration to age well, often showing a generous and expressive interpretation of Alsatian terroir.
