Ornato is a prominent MGA in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, located on steep, south-facing slopes with compact clay-limestone soils typical of the area’s most powerful sites. The vineyard produces bold, structured Barolo with deep colour, dark fruit, firm tannins, and a strong mineral backbone. Famously vinified by Pio Cesare as a single-vineyard bottling, Ornato is known for its intensity and ageing potential, standing as a classic example of Serralunga’s strength and longevity.
