Also known as: Turbiana
Trebbiano di Lugana, also known locally as Turbiana, is a white grape variety grown almost exclusively in the Lugana DOC on the southern shores of Lake Garda in northern Italy. Though once thought to be a clone of Trebbiano, DNA studies have shown it is more closely related to Verdicchio, which explains its ability to produce wines with notable structure, minerality, and ageing potential. On this site I use the Turbiana page to discuss its plantings around Garda.
