Appellation Guide: Chiroubles AOC (Burgundy, France)

Chiroubles AOC is perhaps the least well known of the ten Beaujolais Cru villages but nevertheless is an interesting one.

With around 350 hectares planted up high at 1000m, Chiroubles AOC are light and fragrant, known for their perfumed nature. Much like in neighbouring Fleurie they should be drunk young.

A combination of shallow granite soils and cool evening temperatures ensure that Chiroubles wines take on this distinctive personality.
