I spent a few days seeing Liguria for the first time. Starting off in La Spezia and heading west along the coast, virtually as far as San Remo, I was able to get a feel for the terrain that characterises appellations such as Cinque Terre DOC, Ormeasco di Pornassio DOC and Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC.
First stop was a visit though was to Cantine Lunae in the Colli di Luni DOC.....

The seaside town of Alassio......and an indulgent seafood lunch.....
A visit to Poggio dei Goleri - a samll family operation but pretty big for the area. Davide and his team are well known for producing interesting expressions of Pigato and Vermentino. I was curious to taste them side by side....
